From Ruth: My name is Ruth Pellow and I have been a fertility nurse specialist since 1992 having gained experience in Harley Street, London, St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London and at a clinic on the Costa del Sol, Spain. My husband Simon is my co-director and we have a daughter Emily-Jayne who will be 14 in December. We also have our own pack of dogs, currently seven in number! These are 3 Spaniels, Ini, Merlin and Jasper. One Greek Hare hound called Millie and three tooty fruities, Maya, Eve and Dippa. We found Eve and Dippa abandoned outside our gate Christmas eve 2013 as the tiniest, cutest things you ever did see. They are not so small now!
I am committed to providing you with the best possible patient care that I can and to try and make the whole IVF process as simple and stress free as possible. You are far, far more than just a patient to me. You are a human being that is going through one of the hardest things it is possible to experience. Your emotions will be in turmoil and your hormones will be raging (and not just from the medications you will be on!), but I will be there as the voice of reason and calm and stability. You only need to read a few of the testimonials to see the positive relationships I have established with my patients.
Most of our couples coming over are looking for egg donation, but more and more are coming for either donor sperm, or treatment using their own eggs and sperm, especially where they want to start treatment quickly, consider additional treatment options such as up to 3 embryos being replaced, or other techniques such as blastocyst transfer and assisted hatching. My first post was as a nurse for 3 years in a clinic on Harley Street, London. This was followed by 9 years as the senior nurse and head of the egg donation programme at the Centre for Reproductive Medicine and Surgery at St Bartholomew´s Hospital in London.
I have numerous qualifications including the Royal College of Nursing specialized Fertility Nurse´qualification. I regularly attend conferences to maintain and expand my knowledge on current fertility practice, issues and treatments. The amount of couples coming here has easily double in the last year. This is mainly due to couples realizing that there is an alternative option to treatment in England, and that there is an English speaking nurse at the clinic. I don´t think that it is the fact that the weather is a lot nicer, but you never know!
From Simon: As co-founder of our company I am obviously very proud of the service that we have created. This is a unique service unlike anything else, anywhere and tailor made to your own individual requirements. Our IVF Team strive to make the process as stress free as possible and we achieve this with great success. You only need to read a few of the testimonials to get a clear idea of what our patients feel about us and what they got out of the service we provided (apart from hopefully being pregnant of course!).
We are not like a normal agency as you will have your very own personal fertility nurse specialist nurse on hand 7 days a week, 365 days a year, and you certainly do not pay for the services we provide as this is included in the clinics standard charges. It costs the same whether you use our services or not.
Your decision to seek treatment abroad was doubtlessly not taken lightly and you need to feel assured that it was ultimately the right one for you to make. We are convinced this will be the case should you decide to let us assist you.
There are many, many clinics and centres in many different countries out there, at all different price ranges so the choice can be quite overwhelming! Many of these clinics have approached us asking if we would work with them (not the other way round, which is very flattering), but we do not want to dilute the relationships that we have between the clinics we work with and with you the patient. After all, it is you who is the most important factor. Your wellbeing and care is foremost in our minds and intentions. This is why we limit the numbers of centres we work with and to ensure that they meet the same high standards that we set ourselves.
We hope to see you soon!
